My World - childrens work - 2004
In 2003 we started this project for young refugees and Dutch children,
because we felt the urge to do something about the understanding of refugees and their children.
Our goal was to give these children more face and voice to tell the world who they are.
The lifestory of refugee children consists of much more than the story of their flight alone.
A lifestory tells other people who you are, what you like to do and what your future dreams are.
You can carry your story anywhere in the world to tell others about yourself.
You can take a look at the work of Jana Despotovic ( born 3rd of march, Serbia) and Alexander Sawiea (born 17th of october 1991, Liberia).
Jana tells us that she is funny, that she loves her family and that sometimes she can become very angry.
Jana loves to run outside and within twenty years she would like to be a singer.
Alexander tells us he's very friendly boy and that he can help others when they are angry with eachother,
he loves to ride his bike and within twenty years he would like to be a professional basketballplayer.
From the results of this project a book and an exhibition were made.
